Heritage work:
Elizabeth & Richard present music from a century whose music
reflects the changes from Elizabethan, via the Gunpowder Plot,
through the Civil War, and on, with new cultural influences.
Once
again a vast array of instruments allows a mixture of performance and
hands-on audience participation, with songs, explanations, anecdotes and dances, to keep
audiences of either adults or families very happily fascinated, be they visitors to Heritage sites or Adult Education groups.
The instruments are very much the same as those used for the 16th century (See under Tudor) - the treble recorder comes more into fashion, but the style of tunes and the manner of playing contiue to change, and the material for the songs is different.
Education work
Richard
brings half-day sessions to present music and songs, with some dances,
and offer opportunities for hands-on playing while learning about a
wide range of social information of the period, whether you’re
concentrating on the Gunpowder Plot or the English Civil War periods.
As with other period work, Richard's many years of professional teaching, a B.Ed, and nine positive Ofsted inspections all contribute usefully.
